Hi, I’m Kevin Archibald, an event filmmaker and photographer in Los Angeles, California and I love to tell stories with images.
I’ve been taking pictures ever since I picked up a 1980s Polaroid film camera as a child. Photography has been a life-long hobby of mine. Everywhere I went, I would have a camera on me whether it was an SLR, point-and-shoot, or even a cell phone. I still enjoy looking back through those photographs remembering the places I’ve been, the cultures I’ve experienced, and most importantly the people I met.
In college, I began to explore the world of cinematography and experimented with making short films. There I discovered that filming a movie scene was much like taking a picture… both told a story. With the latest generation of video DSLR cameras, I was finally able to use my skills in photography to produce quality films… and thats when Archibald Films was born.
In my work, I take a journalistic approach to capturing the day’s events as they happen without interruption. Only then can the complete story be told with authentic emotion. It is my personal goal to make films not only meaningful to the those in attendance, but even to those who weren’t. For weddings, this means the couple will be able to allow friends and family all across the world to see, hear, and emotionally experience part of their special day.
Nothing comes close to the power movies have when sight, sound, and story come together perfectly to recreate a moment in time—and that is why I love working with video so much.
